Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm): A comprehensive four-year undergraduate program that delves deeper into the scientific, clinical, and practical aspects of pharmacy. The B.Pharm course is designed to produce well-rounded graduates capable of pursuing careers in various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry, including research, development, and healthcare.
Duration: 4 years (8 semester)
Eligibility: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects Mathematics / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology with 40% marks (35% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Candidates who have passed D. Pharm course are eligible for admission directly to II year B. Pharm (Lateral Entry).
Age: 17 years and above as on 31st December of admission Year.
Industrial Tour & Training
A candidate, after completing III year are IV year shall undergo practical training in pharmaceutical Manufacturing House / Approved hospital / CSIR research laboratories for a period not less than 150 hours to be covered in not less than 45 days. They should submit two copies of the training report duly certified by the authorities of the training centre in which he / she undergoes training.
Candidates studying in final year of the course shall visit several pharmaceutical Manufacturing Houses as a supplement to their academic training and submit a report to the Principal.
Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm): A foundational program designed to introduce students to the essential aspects of pharmacy practice. This two-year course provides a solid grounding in the basic concepts of pharmaceutical sciences, preparing students for entry-level positions in the pharmacy profession or further studies.
Course Duration: 2 years practical training of 500 hours spread over a period of not less than 3 months in a government hospital / pharmacy / chemists & druggists.
Eligibility: A pass in Pre-university course / 10+2 / PDC/ Intermediate / Higher Secondary examination in Science with Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects.
Age: 17 Years and above as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Attendance Requirement: A minimum of 80% in both theory and practical classes is mandatory to get eligibility for sessional / internal assessment as well as annual examination.
Examination: Internal assessment / sessional examination There will be three periodic sessional / internal assessment examinations in theory and practical during the academic year for maximum marks of 20 per subject. Average of the best two sessional marks will be considered.
Board Exam: Examination will be conducted by the Board of Examination Authority, Drugs Control Department, Bengaluru.
Hospital Training: After having appeared in the final examination of second year, the student must undergo 500 hours of practical training in a government hospital / pharmacy / chemists & druggists which is recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
